VRV / VRF Systems

Design, Revit modelling, installation and commissioning of multi-zone VRV/VRF systems for offices, campuses and government buildings across Indonesia.

VRV/VRF is a multi-zone air-conditioning system in which one outdoor unit serves many indoor units through refrigerant piping. SOKANTARA designs, models in Revit, installs and commissions VRV/VRF systems for offices, campuses and government buildings.

VRV/VRF systems deliver zone-by-zone control and high efficiency — provided pipe design, refnet selection and commissioning are carried out with discipline.

Scope

  • System design: zoning, outdoor and indoor unit selection, and checks on pipe length and height-difference limits per manufacturer guidance.
  • Modelling in Revit so refrigerant and drain routes are coordinated with structure and other disciplines.
  • Installation of copper piping, nitrogen-purged brazing, refnets, insulation and control wiring.
  • Commissioning: pressure test, vacuum, additional refrigerant charge and test run.
  • Centralised control and integration as required by the facility team.

Who it is for

Offices, campuses and government facilities with many zones and different operating hours.

Frequently asked questions

VRV / VRF Systems

What is the difference between VRV and VRF?

In principle they are the same: variable refrigerant flow systems serving many indoor units. VRV is the Daikin trade name; VRF is the generic term used by other brands.

What is the maximum pipe length of a VRV system?

Limits on pipe length, height difference and refnet spacing vary by model and brand. We always check the design against the manufacturer technical manual for the selected units.

Why does commissioning matter?

Commissioning confirms pressure, vacuum, additional refrigerant charge, unit addressing and controls work correctly. Without disciplined commissioning, a VRV system can waste energy and fail early.
